Establishment of ODINWESTPAC which will promote communication and collaboration
among WESTPAC member states, and between WESTPAC member states and other partners
in the fields of marine information management and product/service delivery.
REGIONAL E-REPOSITORY OF SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS
The research, development, the set-up of the repository server and the administration
are done by National Marine Data & Information Service (NMDIS) of China. The
DSPACE software platform is chosen. China has created its collections. With the
active participation of other ODINWESTPAC Member countries, the marine scientific
literatures in WESTPAC will be accessible through this repository.

OceanDocs
OceanDocs is supported by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) specifically to collect, preserve and facilitate access to all research output from members of their Ocean Data and Information Networks (ODINS). It is one of a number of complementary thematic digital marine and aquatic repositories including the Aquatic Commons, which is supported by the International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers (IAMSLIC). The records of both repositories are harvested by Avano which aggregates records from marine and aquatic repositories around the World.

ASFA (Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts)
 Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts
(ASFA) is an International Cooperative Information System which comprises an abstracting
and indexing service covering the world's literature on the science, technology,
management, and conservation of marine, brackish water, and freshwater resources
and environments, including their socio-economic and legal aspects.
The ASFA bibliographic database is the principal output of the system and it contains
more than 1.3 million bibliographic references (or records),
with coverage since 1971. About 3,500 new bibliographic references are
added each month to the database. Each reference includes: the title of the document
in its original language (all non-English titles are also translated into English);
an English language and/or non-English language abstract and subject; taxonomic
and geographic index entries as relevant.
